Fomos
porventura o prato menos aliciante.
sobre a qual as guitarras crescem, desfiando melodias que nos envolvem;
segunda metade deste lançamento, 'Streetcleaner', dos Godflesh e 'Hand of
A recta final com 'Way Through Woven
English:
We were all caught by surprise when, in 2010, Isis decided to put an end to their career, shortly after the release of a successful 'Wavering Radiant', successor of giants like 'Celestial', 'Oceanic' or 'In The Absence Of Truth', albums that defined the main lines of a musical style which is popularized under the name of post-metal.
Well, the orphans passed a long time licking their wounds, crying snot and drool, but at the same time taking refuge in inspiring and substitutes, a comfort now enhanced with new releases of Neurosis and Amenra, respectively.
'Temporal' comes to show that Isis should not be forgotten, cannot be analysed as an epiphenomenon which is swept away from our minds after its demise as a simple delete. These 14 songs that make up this compilation (far from being merely a best of, in its most simplistic line), are demos, remixes, unreleased tracks and other less accessible songs until now (plus a DVD with their videography) that, at first glimpse, seem strayed, but a slightly more careful analysis shows a fairly interesting one for followers of the band and a great card for those who only now take contact with the band. The demos, with their changes faced to the final versions, listen up 'Ghost Key' here without voice or 'Carry' with different guitar lines, probably are the less interesting point. However, the highlight of the first disc goes for the immense 'Grey Divide', 16 minutes punctuated by a solid rhythm but simple, on which the guitars grow, unravelling melodies that wrap us; they rest after a few minutes, turning into a sweet lullaby and then returns, sublime; the assets were not all played.
In the second half of this release, 'Streetcleaner' of Godflesh and 'Hand of Doom', from Black Sabbath’s classic ‘Paranoid’, demonstrates the breadth of musical references brought into the bosom of the collective. This two covers have seen the light of day in the late-90s, but are really quite competent and took the proper treatment to fit on Isis sound. The remixes do not bring anything new or exciting and 'Temporal' is in the action line of Aaron Turner and Co...The final stretch with "Way Through Woven Branches ',' The Pliable Foe ', resulting from the recent onslaught with the Melvins, and the acoustic version of '20 Minutes/40 Years', closes with gold these nearly two hours of music, with beautiful moments, pleasant surprises and the certainty that the world still needs Isis.
