The Doom - 'Echoes To Chaos' (EP) (2008)

Trabalho de estreia para este projecto norte-americano, composto por meia-dúzia de temas crus, com uma produção minimal, resultando num som muito sofrível, a que se junta um conjunto de vocalizações tortuosas, roçando os uivos de um lobo faminto.

No cômputo geral, estamos perante um trabalho que precisaria de muitas melhorias para se tornar aceitável; aqui, salvam-se alguns riffs de guitarra e pouco mais. Underground? De facto. DIY? Cremos que sim! Mas o Doom para mostrar a sua força, poder e sentimento necessita de bem mais. (7/20)

English:

First release for this North American project, consisting of half a dozen raw themes, with a minimal production, resulting in a sound very poorly, which is compounded by a tortuous set of vocalizations, rubbing the howling of a hungry wolf.
Overall, this is a work that would need many improvements to become acceptable; here, save a few guitar riffs and little else. Underground? Indeed. DIY? We believe so! But  Doom needs much more to show its strength, power and feeling. (7/20)

Gniyrg Gnaarg - 'From Mother Sun' (demo) (2010)

A Finlândia tem sido um bom viveiro no que toca a bandas que resolvem abraçar as sonoridades mais doomescas, de entre as quais os Shape Of Despair, Skepticism ou Spiritus Mortis são um bom exemplo disso mesmo. Com "From Mother Sun", estes Gniyrg Gnaarg apresentam-se ao mundo. Uma demo com quatro músicas na linha do Doom mais clássico, mas com alguns trejeitos Stoner, mais patentes nos riffs de guitarra.

No entanto, os temas ainda surgem pouco coesos, pouco poderosos, com a voz a não encaixar bem - a necessitar de mais garra e melhor trabalho na integração das melodias - apesar de apresentarem uma estrutura complexa, o que acaba por ser um ponto positivo neste trabalho.

Ainda sem nada de relevante que justifique o seu nome na galeria do Hall Of Fame do Doom, estes Gniyrg Gnaarg poderão almejar outros voos, mas para isso será preciso mais transpiração e um pouco mais de inspiração. (8.5/20)

Finland has been a good breeding ground when it comes to bands that decide to embrace the more doomed sounds, from which Shape Of Despair, Skepticism and Spiritus Mortis are good examples of this. With 'From Mother Sun', these Gniyrg Gnaarg presents their selves to the world. A four-song demo in line with the more classic Doom, but with some quirks Stoner, more patents in the guitar riffs.
However, issues still arise bit tight, with little power and the voice does not fit properly - needing more grip and better integration of work on the tunes - even if they have a complex structure, which turns out to be a positive point in this work.
Yet, nothing of relevance to justify its name in the Hall Of Fame of Doom, they may aim other flights, but this will require more sweat and a bit more inspiration. (8.5/20)

Wreck And The Reference - 'Black Cassette' (2011)

Dissonante e caótico, ou por outras palavras, não tem ponta por onde pegar este "Black Cassette! Realmente, a expressão "DIY" faz aqui todo o sentido. Há Doom, Noise, montes de Experimentalismo e uma piscadela de olho ao Drone, tudo enrolado numa amálgama sonora, dividida em seis temas,  que não nos agarra, nem por breves instantes; pelo contrário! Não há fio condutor, dando a sensação que estamos perante uma manta de retalhos onde tudo foi unido à pressão. Há uma faceta um tanto ou quanto obscura a envolver estas músicas(!), mas mesmo isso não é suficiente para atenuar o que repetidas audições constataram: um trabalho que não vai ficar para a história.

There's Doom, Noise, lots of experimentation and a wink to Drone, all wrapped in a sonic amalgam, divided into six themes, that do not grab us, on the contrary! No thread, giving the impression that this is a patchwork where everything was attached to the pressure. There is one facet of a somewhat obscure to involve these songs (!), But even that is not enough to mitigate the hearings found that repeated: a job that will not go down in history.
