Canonis "Apple Of Discord"

A singles collection from a legendary band from Naberezhnye Chelny. Starting their activity as dark metal band Canonis rapidly evolved to the band with its own unique style based on etherial gothic and dark folk. Having performed a lot of gigs and having taken part in a number of gothic compilations Canonis has not released their debut full-length album yet, therefore this compilation can be considered as a detailed report on gothic period in the band history. The issue includes a CD-R with professional printing, a booklet, a flyer and a hand-numbered certificate with unique copy number (edition is limited to 100 copies). It is packed in a mini-LP-sleeve of solid cardboard with original Art of Silence series appearance.

Sadael "Essence"

A full-length album from an Armenian musician presents atmospheric material in the vein of Until Death Overtakes Me. Being mysterious and sorrowful it combines ambient and funeral doom. Being mostly based on keyboards the album creates dark and beautiful atmosphere featuring I.S. Bach citations in the one of compositions. The issue includes a CD-R with professional printing, a booklet, a flyer and a hand-numbered certificate with unique copy number (edition is limited to 100 copies). It is packed in a mini-LP-sleeve of solid cardboard with original Art of Silence series appearance.

Muhmood & Ego Ex Nihil "Fictive Planets"

Collaboration of two experimental Russian projects based on mixture of post-metal doom riffs with dark ambient parts. A long deep space journey around invisible fictive planets is depicted by harsh guitar riffs while minutes of atmospheric soundscapes do not bring any relief just adding to the overall depressive picture of wandering and desperation. The issue includes a CD-R with professional printing, a booklet, a flyer and a hand-numbered certificate with unique copy number (edition is limited to 100 copies). Apostle Of Solitude - Last Sunrise (2010)

Cerca de ano e meio após o lançamento de "Sincerest Misery", o seu primeiro longa-duração, os norte-americanos Apostle Of Solitude surgem com uma nova proposta, este "Last Sunrise", agora com selo da Profound Lore Records.

E quem tomou contacto com esse debut, sabe já muito bem com que linhas se cose Chuck Brown e Ca., ou seja, um Doom Metal de linhas clássicas, que vai beber a nomes como Witchfinder General, The Obsessed e Saint Vitus, por exemplo. E como diz o velho ditado "em equipa que ganha não se mexe", o que temos aqui ao longo desta dúzia de temas acaba por ser uma continuação da fórmula empregue no registo anterior, com boas linhas de guitarra, um ou outro solo, ritmos pausados e sóbrios, sempre a encaixar no timbre de Brown.

Este último nascer do sol inicia ao ritmo de marcha militar e desemboca em "Acknowledging The Demon", um tema mais mid-tempo que se une a "Other Voices" de forma imperceptível (ainda não se percebe como não é uma única peça musical!). É somente à quarta música que as coisas começam a entrar nos eixos e, de facto, "Letting Go Of The Wheel" é uma grande canção e a prova de que se pode muito bem fazer fazer bom Doom melancólico sem recorrer a grandes distorções. "Hunter Sick Rapture" parece piscar o olho a um feeling mais bluesy, alargando a paleta de cores num álbum que sem recorrer a grandes novidades acabaria por se tornar monótono.

Mas não pensem que o quarteto de Indianapolis está a amolecer, porque "December Drives To Tears" e "Frontiers Of Pain" demonstram bem a matriz por que se regem, onde o peso reina e até será possível fazer algum headbanging nesta última.

No final, mediante a versão europeia ou americana que seja adquirida, encontram-se três temas extra, correspondendo a tantas outras covers. Na versão para o Velho Mundo, as versões de "Emerald" de Thin Lizzy, "Where Eagles Dare" dos Misfists e "Procreation Of The Wicked" dos Celtic Frost não fogem em nada aos originais, passando por mero exercício de entretenimento para a banda e ouvintes.
